How long does it take to get a brown belt in Tai chi?

My cousin claims he got a brown belt in 2 years in tai chi I don't believe him because he is a chronic liar... Someone prove me right! Please!|||Unless he is AMAZING at tai chi, around 5 years. I am a black belt in tae kwon do and it took me 4 years.
