Well what are they used for? Is it a Tai chi form of taekwando?
What types of sword is it? Needed for a wirtten project.|||Tai-Chi is not Taekwan-do.
Tai-Chi is short for Tai-Chi-Chuan which is a Chinese martial art that belongs in the Internal or Soft division of Asian martial art. Taekwon-do is a Korean martial art and is classified as an External or Hard style.
The sword, staffs, and all weapons used in Tai-Chi-Chuan is used like other martial art in that the weapons are used as an extension of the body. The difference is that the power generation in Tai-Chi-Chuan is unlike that of the external/hard martial art. Tai-Chi-Chuan uses the internal energy call the "chi" which is expressed or guided from the area of the abdomin outward to the extremities such as the hands or foot. In the case of a weapon, the energy is further extended beyond the limb through the weapon on contact with a target.
This is not an easy concept to understand if you never practised it, so you are not going to be able to explain it well enough in words that is going to mean much to your readers.|||Tae Kwon Do and Tai Chi have similarities, but are quite distinct. Tai Chi movements are fluid and slowly graceful. TKD is more choppy and quick. It is a hard art, which means that every block or strike is meant to maim or kill. Weapons are used in both schools, but in Tai Chi, they are used in accordance with the goals of the art, not as practical weapons.|||Tae Kwon Do and Tai Chi have similarities, but are quite distinct. First people have to understand that Tai Chi is a martial art just like Kung Fu, Karate, etc. It is not a stretching exercise for old people.
Tai Chi generates it's power from relaxation therefore all beginner Tai Chi forms are done slowly to teach the student relaxation BETWEEN the techniques. Advanced Tai Chi is quite fast. Weapons have the same purpose in Tai Chi as they have in all other martial arts.
